National Stress Awareness Day 2014

More and more people are finding themselves affected by stress. Much of the stress is work-related, although money problems, relationships, illness and trauma also play a part.  Fortunately it is possible to combat stress relatively easily if it is recognised before serious symptoms of burnout develop. Typical signs  include irritability, impatience, outbursts of emotion, panic attacks, making uncharacteristic mistakes, illness, sleep disturbances.

National Stress Awareness Day aims to increase awareness of stress, and takes place on 5th November this year.  Organised by the International Stress Management Association (IMSA) the awareness event has now been running for 16 years and aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the effects of stress upon individuals.  Each event has a theme - this year's is called 'Stress: the balancing act'.  If you would like to learn more about this event, or take a look at some of the recommended reading then you can access the dedicated ISMA site by clicking on the link below.
