Attend one of the Resilience Programme's workshops - by learning the underlying biological responses involved in stress you will be given a better awareness of the body. You will also be given an opportunity to discuss individual challenges, set yourself personalised action plans and receive follow-up coaching if there are any other issues you would like to address. By taking time out of the day you will learn to appreciate that you can take a step out of yourself and the benefits that come along with this. The workshops also provide the opportunity to be around others, notice stress in others in order to be more supportive and learn new coping strategies.
Learn to identify and manage negative stress reactions and their triggers. Signs of stress could be things such as frequent headaches, heartburn, nausea, stomach pain, difficulty concentrating, excessive sleeping or insomnia, obsessive or compulsive behaviours, constant fatigue, social withdrawal or isolation, irritability, or significant weight loss or gain. Simply be aware and scan your body each day for any areas that feel tight or affected by stress.
